After months of preparations, the highly anticipated BrUCL annual flagship event, Lost in London, is finally back!  This year the prizes are even better with a grand prize of GBP 555.00 and other prizes including 3X Bose® SIE2 sport headphones, GBP 180.00 and Amazon vouchers. Moreover, to avoid disappointment, we have increased the number of participating teams to 50 and managed to recruit 26 volunteers.

The event took place on the 2nd of November and started off with registering at the Roberts building at 9am. After the participants have collected the breakfast, T-shirts and the game information packs, our president, Feyra, gave a short introduction to the game.  Following a dua’ recital, the participants were flagged off at approximately 10am.

This year, the 42 teams participating were randomly divided into two groups i.e. East-Central London and West-Central London prior to the game. All the teams in each group would have received clues to 5 checkpoints including one compulsory checkpoint where the team would get the clues to the other 5 checkpoints in another group. At some checkpoints, the participants had to complete some tasks for instance arranging Harry Potter books in order, identifying songs and completing riddles while at others, the teams were asked to upload pictures on Instagram.

Despite the wet and cold weather, all the teams managed to get back to the end point, UCL George Farha café bar where lunch was given out while the scores were being finalized. At around 3.30pm, the winners were announced with the team, 2 and A Half Men, taking home the grand prize; first runner-up being the team, The Nadjmen; and finally, the second runner-up, team Cool Beans. Furthermore, three electrical photo frames were awarded to team, Naughtingham, for being the most creative team.
